Coronado Decorative Artist Gerry Lounsbury began her
formal education in fine art as a creative
outlet during training as a registered nurse,
and continued instruction in Boston, MA, Nebraska and California, then realized she was
more enamored with decorative art work as a functional accessory. This led to studying both locally and across the
country with world renowned instructors in seminars and at national conferences.
Gerry
paints mainly with acrylics on wood in a wide variety of decorative styles ranging from
European style folk painting and Norwegian rosemaling to Early Americana and whimsical
florals.
Gerry
has offered decorative painting instruction in group and private lessons for over 20 years
at her studio in Coronado located a half block from the beautiful Pacific. Vacationers often schedule an introductory private
lesson when visiting the island.
When
not in the park or out sailing with her husband, Gerry can be found at her shop surrounded
by paint, brushes, supplies and a wide variety of items waiting the painter’s touch.
