Tropical Study #5Tim Fitzpatrick
Watercolorist

Tim Fitzpatrick, an accomplished watercolor artist from San Diego, Calif., showed an interest in art at an early age. Born in England -in 1963, he spent part of his early years in Fiji and New Zealand before his family moved to San Diego.
From the mid '80s to the mid'90s Tim had worked with architects and civil engineers as a draftsman, while at the same time producing commercial art renderings on a freelance basis.
In 1995 he decided to turn his interest to fine art, reflecting the local San Diego scene which became extremely popular among area art lovers. He soon found a demand for desert scenes, focusing on the Anza-Borrego Desert. Recently he has broadened his scope to include attractive tropical scenes, perhaps a throwback to his early days in the South Pacific.
Final Approach
This year he has briefly turned his talent toward New Zealand and the America's Cup. He has caught the spirit and excitement of the sailing event in a number of paintings that are available for the first time in an Auckland gallery, Jonathan Grant Galleries.
His watercolor originals and reproductions are hanging in homes across the globe.
Tim does several juried arts & crafts shows per year in San Diego County, including "Art-in-the -Park" in Coronado during the spring and summer months.
