Maïc
Paint, Needle, Glass
“The illusion of reality is the approach of my romantic paintings. The abstract and representational works show strong shapes as well as vibrant colors.”
Born in Provence, in the south of France, Maïc moved to San Diego in 1988. Having an artistic disposition, she joined an art class hosted by Yumi, a local professional. Her paintings are now widely appreciated in many homes and offices. A few years later, she started to create her own versions of pine needle basketry, an ancient Native American Art.
Maic“Pine needles are an interesting material to work with. They offer a new concept and structure in the creation of art”.
Maïc has since started producing her own glass designs to compliment her pine needle basketry. She introduces different types of inclusions in each piece thereby insuring uniqueness.
Maïc is a juried member of the San Diego Museum of Art Artists Guild, Spanish Village Art Center, Coronado Art Association, La Jolla Fine Art and Gallery 23 in Spanish Village at Balboa Park where her art is presently shown.
Maïc’s art can be found in Europe, Asia, Australia and most states in the USA.
